Made some progress on the XS650 project.
Got some high temp paint shot on the pipes before we wrap them.
Spent some time cleaning up the motor that we will use for now. De-greased it & removed it from the frame that it was in.
Still have to drain the oil & polish all the covers.
We are also taking care of a few last minute changes with the frame before it is ready for paint. We will then be ready to put the motor back in the frame & see real porgress.

Some times the last 10% of the bike takes 90% of the time. This one is definitely in that category. There are a lot of little issues to workout before the frame can be painted.
We are not using the original foot control mounts, already have the forward mounts on. Instead we tapped the old control mounts & are using them for a custom mounted side mount plate.
Still needs to be cleaned up a bit more before it is ready for paint but you get the idea of what it will look like.
The updates are coming a little slower on this one but it is getting there. So, keep checking back here for updates.
Well we got to the carbs on the XS today. We are only going to use the left carb since we have converted this to a single carb bike. Ran into a few issues.
We were a little surprised when we took it apart. They were pretty dirty, they had been sitting for a while.
Some where along the line someone tried to remove the pilot jets from the bowls & stripped the heads right off of them. So, it will be a little more work then what we were hoping for. Not bad for a 30+ year old bike.

We got a bike back in the shop that we have seen before. The customer wanted to switch things around. So, we changed it up. We fabricated a custom fender eliminator as a platform for custom LED Taillights.
We also got rid of the axle mounted tag mount & fabricated one that sits off the rear of the frame.
Just another look at the angle of the fender eliminator plate we fabbed up.
Keep checking back here for updates & new projects.
